I don’t have any local bike shops near by. Wanted to buy online but not sure which one to buy.
How can I know? Do I check size? Brand? Will any fit?
It’s a 24 inch mountain bike. Thanks.
Not so much a question as a comment I’m hoping many will read & understand. As I weaved my way through the streets of downtown St. Louis this morning, on my way to the Riverfront Trail, I passed a much younger man on what appeared to be a high end Kona dual suspension bike. Well…passed is really the wrong word. More like sucked his doors off – if he had doors. He caught me at the next red light and said something to effect of, "Man – how do you do that? I’m pedaling my a** off couldn’t keep up."
The light turned green & I just left him there wondering. I didn’t have time to tell him his seat height was way too low, he was in the wrong gear (pedaling much too fast for level city streets) but most of all – it’s a mountain bike in the city!
If there is a question here – it’s this…"What good is a ,000 dual suspension mountain bike in the city if an old fat man with arthritis in the back & knees can blow you away on a hybrid that cost much less?" Know in advance where & how you will riding. Mountain bikes may look cool, but what good are they in the city?
Comments welcome but not necessarily needed. Almost 30 miles round trip.
I have a normal mountain bike and I need new tires. I found these tires for cruiser bikes that I really liked and I was wondering if they would fit/work on my mountain bike.
the wheels are size 26in. I really liked these tires I found for a cruiser bike and I was wondering if they would work/fit on my mountain bike.

I want to buy a 80cc engine but not sure if it can fit on my GT Avalanche 1.0. Is it possible to add an engine to a mountain bike and is it hard to put the engine together?
Dual Flowmaster, power programmer, nice stereo system,
flaws, well suspension throws you around like you’re at the baja even on a perfectly flat road,
has idle problems that are completely intermittant and it wasn’t the EGR valve or the IAC, or the battery, so I’m stumped,
a new truck, or even used truck means higher insurance and a truck payment,
keeping my truck means paying a mechanic to go over with a fine tooth comb and taking me for every penny I got,
any advice?
best answer seems ride it til the wheels fall off, but I can’t afford it if they fall off on the highway and I cause a 10 car pile up,
I’m a carpenter, tools and lots of lumber, need a truck
My mountain bike only has small dashes on the levers you use to change gears… How do I know which are higher or lower gears? Is pushing the levers out taking them into higher gears…or vice versa? Or something else completely. Right now riding on a flat surface is easy, but at the slightest incline…it is really hard to pedal!
Trying to find out more information about a bike. I’m totally new to this, so I apologize in advance. A friend is offering to give me a bike to get started, but I don’t know how it compares to the one I have. Here’s all I know about it:
The frame is silver, aluminum. On the top bar, the sticker’s peeling but it says something about aluminum. The bottom, angled bar says fs elite on it. It’s a 21-speed dual index. Shimano brakes. Yellow duo track 7007 front suspension fork. I also wrote down that it has the phrase "aac 900" written on it, but I forget where.
I could take that bike or keep one that I already have. It’s a giant rincon se aluxx6061. Bought back in like 2002 I think.
Do you know anything about the first one described? How does it compare to the second. Thoughts? ANY advice/opinions/etc. would be appreciated because I’m over my head here. Thanks so much!
